Sampling atmospheric pollutants
17 Jul 2017
This intriguing room could belong in some type of sci-fi movie! In fact it’s one of the linear accelerators at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) at Lucas Heights in NSW.
This instrument (known as the STAR Accelerator) accelerates protons (sub-atomic particles) to 2 million volts potential to non-destructively analyse a large range of elements in solid samples using Ion Beam Analysis techniques.
Strategen are working with ANSTO Ion Beam Analysis group to identify contributions of various pollution sources to the composition of atmospheric pollutants for a number of client projects.
