Darren joined Strategen as CEO in May 2011 with over 20 years experience in government relations, environmental impact assessment and environmental management, with particular emphasis on the land development and mining sectors.
He has a comprehensive knowledge of all key areas of environmental consulting services, provides strategic advice and support across a range of projects and has a high level of expertise in the negotiation of environmental approvals.
Darren's previous roles at a senior executive level include:
National General Manager - Residential Communities and Deputy Managing Director for Satterley Property Group, where he was responsible for government relations, project approvals and project delivery across metropolitan Perth, South West WA and the Pilbara, along with Northern Queensland and Melbourne operations
Former Independent Appeals Convenor to the Minister for the Environment where Darren facilitated approval outcomes for major resource and development projects across Western Australia
Planning and Assessment Manager at the Department of Environmental Protection where he managed assessments of planning schemes and amendments, subdivision and infrastructure proposals and strategic planning projects.

Tim joined Strategen in April 2011 after a successful career with the Department of Environment and Conservation (formerly Department of Conservation and Land Management). Tim has extensive experience in Government processes, senior management, project administration, environmental policy preparation and implementation, environmental approvals and land management.
Along with his extensive on-ground operational experience in areas such as rehabilitation, fire control, biodiversity conservation, dryland salinity, urban bush management and social planning, Tim has held senior management positions including District Manager (Wheatbelt); Manager of Perth's Regional Parks; Principal Policy Officer with the Minister for Environment; and Principal Policy Officer with DEC's Director General.

Dale Newsome is a Senior Principal with 16 years of experience in the environmental field in roles with industry, Government and consulting. Dale manages and directs multi-disciplinary teams to deliver environmental assessments and achieve approval outcomes. Dale's regulatory knowledge and technical experience enable the provision of pro-active, strategic advice, designed to keep environmental approvals in line with required project timelines.

In a career spanning almost 20 years, George has worked on major projects within WA and internationally, with significant experience in contaminated land management and remediation, hazardous materials management, waste management, contract and project management.

Dehlia has over 16 years professional experience in environmental management, sustainability, environmental impact assessment and project management within the transport, infrastructure, urban planning, resource and government sectors, both locally and internationally. Specialising in the management, direction and delivery of environmental management and assessment projects across a broad spectrum of disciplines, Dehlia is also experienced in strategic evaluation and planning, sustainability in design and engineering innovation.
Prior to joining Strategen in 2012, Dehlia was a Principal Consultant and the Sustainability and Climate Change Manager for Worley Parsons Western Australia, assisting resource and energy organisations to manage business risks, optimise engineering design to ultimately improve project performance throughout the project life. In the United Kingdom, Dehlia held the role of Associate Director with Halcrow Group Limited where she led large multidisciplinary projects integrating highway engineering design, planning and environmental management for two government transport engineering and design consulting panel contracts. Dehlia was also responsible for managing the corporate delivery of professional environmental consulting services for two national Highways Agency (executive agency responsible for the English strategic road network) contracts over 3 years.

Roger joined Strategen in 2007 and manages the Bunbury office where he has spent he last 7 years undertaking a wide range of environmental approval tasks. He is an experienced operational land manager with a wide range of environmental and natural resource land management skills. Roger has demonstrated skills in forest management standards and ISO 14001 compliance; threatened species management; natural resource risk management; bushfire planning, risk assessment, suppression; and, industrial plantation development and management on both private and government land.
Roger is experienced with the EPBC Act, CALM Act 2000 and its regulations and procedures, the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950, Bushfires Act 1954 and regulations, and the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and its regulations and required approvals.
Prior to working for Strategen, Roger worked for over 30 years in Integrated Tree Cropping Limited and the Forests Department/Department of Conservation and Land Management.

Leanne joined Strategen in 2012 with over 15 years experience in the Western Australian public sector, providing high-level strategic advice to senior executives and Ministers. Leanne’s key areas of expertise relates to the preparation of Environmental Protection Act 1986 approvals, the provision of strategic environmental and approvals advice, environmental impact assessment and management, application of environmental legislation and policy, agency liaison and appeals.
Since joining Strategen, Leanne has provided environmental and approvals advice and support for a number of key projects including Mangles Bay Marina Based Tourist Precinct; Mulga Downs Iron Ore Project and Norwest Energy EP413 Seismic Survey.
Leanne has previously held the office of Deputy Appeals Convenor under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and in this role was responsible for investigating and reporting on appeals for the Minister for the Environment and coordinating the approval of ministerial statements. Through previous government roles, Leanne also has extensive experience in environmental regulation and has developed well established government agency networks over her career in the Western Australian public sector.
Dr Philip Bourgault

Dr Philip Bourgault has more than 20 years working experience in contaminated sites, acid sulfate soils, salinity, groundwater hydrology and urban water management.

Melissa leads the environmental Auditing and Compliance team.
Melissa has 19 years of professional experience across the environmental, retail and business development industries. Melissa is a qualified auditor and has completed numerous auditing, compliance and risk management projects; and has more than 13 years of Commonwealth and Western Australian Environment and Heritage approvals and management experience across the aviation, utilities, resources, infrastructure and commercial industries.
